Hot weather continues through week’s end

A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of the area for Wednesday & Thursday

If feels more like late July than early September!

PVD reached 89° on Tuesday, still falling shy of the first 90° of 2023 at the airport. We will try again tomorrow and Thursday.

Heat Advisory is in effect for the areas shaded in orange below:

Heat Advisory

Hazy sunshine will remain in place through Friday as a slow-moving cold front approaches and arrives over the weekend.

This will bring the chance for a few showers and storms both Saturday and Sunday – not washouts, but not all dry either.

It remains humid over the weekend but temperatures fall back into the 80s, eventually dropping back into the seasonable 70s by next week.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Lee has formed and will likely become a major hurricane by the weekend. It then will move north likely between the eastern seaboard and Bermuda.

Many things can happen between now and next week, so while it is too early to tell what it will do, it needs to be closely monitored – and we will do just that here at ABC6

STAY WITH ABC6 FOR THE LATEST ON HURRICANE SEASON AND THE LATE-SEASON HEAT!

Have a great night.
