Rhode Island’s House Oversight and Finance Committees will be meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss next steps for the state’s failed benefit system.

Data released from the state Thursday shows 8,031 applications are still back logged.

This comes as over 700 applications continue to be submitted.

Since UHIP went live last month, 29,000 people did not receive their supplemental social security payments.
