WESTERLY, Mass. (WLNE) — A fire broke out in a Westerly home on Thursday.

The Westerly Fire Department’s Chief John Mackay said crew members were called to 1 Bridgette Ln. for a structure fire around noon.

Once they arrived, crew members saw heavy smoke from the first and second floors.

Mackay said a first alarm was struck and an aggressive interior attack was started.

Although the fire was contained to the family room towards the back of the building, the chief said smoke filled the entire structure.

No one was injured in the fire.
