House in Providence sustains significant damage from fire, 5 adults displaced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Providence Fire Department responded to a large house fire on Langdon Street Saturday night around 10:00 p.m.

Witnesses first reported the fire and say the fire began on the front porch of the home.

The Providence Fire Department tells us the house suffered significant damage and National Grid was called in to terminate utilities to the home.

No injuries were reported, but the Red Cross is helping two adults who were displaced from their home.

The fire became a second alarm and the fire took approximately 40 members of the Providence Fire Department to put the flames out.

The investigation is still ongoing and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
