How much longer will we deal with the late summer heat?
Providence, R.I. (WLNE)– Another hot day for us. Heat Advisory for East Providence, Kent, and Bristol Co. until 8pm Thursday evening. Take frequent breaks if you plan on being outdoors, and please stay hydrated. The “feels like” temp will be in the 95-100 degree range.
We are stuck in a slow moving pattern this week. We will get some relief once this high pressure moves out, but until them expect the temps to remain in the upper 80’s and low 90’s. Our relief is just on the other side of this system and that will bring some scattered showers to the area by the weekend.
Tracking the Tropics… Tropical Storm Lee.
National Hurricane Center is projecting this storm will be a cat 4 by weekend. Impacts at this time are still unclear.
The Atlantic waters are running pretty warm and that will help this storm intensify. As of now, tropical tracks have it staying just north of Puerto Rico and then making a shift to the north.
