Human skull fragment washes up on Dartmouth beach

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) – Police in Dartmouth said they responded to a report of an aged human skull in the sand at a local beach.

Police said the fragment was found on January 3.

Officers responded to Little Beach on Horseneck Road after a passerby found what looked like a “sizeable fragment of an aged human skull” in the sand.

In a news release, Dartmouth police said it is suspected that the skull fragment washed ashore, and was not placed there.

The fragment is being transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for analysis.
