Hundreds show out to the Newport St. Patrick’s Day parade
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) – Hundreds of people showed up to the Newport St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday.
This was the first time the parade was held since the beginning of the pandemic.
Despite the unfavorable weather, folks still came out in the fog and rain to enjoy the festivities. The parade included pipes, marching bands, reenactment units, and a number of local, state, and regional organizations.
The parade started at 11 a.m at city hall. People marched past Washington Square, down Themes Street and ended at the Saint Augustness Church.
