Ice Cream the cat has leg amputated, gets ready for adoption

The MSPCA-Angell in Boston shared this photo of Ice Cream after surgery for his club foot.

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The MSPCA-Angell said a cat that needed surgery for his club-foot is on his way to finding his forever home.

MSPCA-Angell said in a release, Ice Cream is three-months-old and was born with a club foot, a leg that failed to develop normally.

Animal rescue officials said Ice Cream underwent surgery removing his leg and has since earned the affectionate title of “tripod kitty.”

The MSPCA-Angell said a flood of adoption inquiries reached their Boston headquarters after announcing his arrival.

Officials said Ice Cream may be going home this week.  If the adoption falls through, shelter officials will re-post his profile so someone else can step forward.
