In-State Tuition Rates Possible for Children of Illegal Immigrants

Two State Representatives held a press conference today to outline their plans for legislation that would grant in-state tuition rates to the children of illegal immigrants.

The kids would still have to meet certain conditions but even if their parents had come to Rhode Island illegally they'd still be entitled to in-state tuition at Rhode Island colleges and universities.  One of the Representatives says she doesn't want today's children to have to wait as long as she did for a college education, given how important it is to have a degree.

It's a topic that has generated lots of buzz on our website and Facebook page.
