Inmates at ACI starting to receive COVID-19 vaccine

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE): Inmates at the ACI have already started to receive vaccinations, according to a spokesperson.
“Earlier this week we starting vaccinations efforts of correctional officers and staff across facilities over a two-day vaccine clinic,” J.R. Ventura said. “In collaboration with RIDOH efforts to target high-risk individuals in high-risk congregate settings, we are starting to vaccinate the highest-risk inmates yesterday.”
This comes after two inmates died from COVID-19 less than a week apart. A correctional officer also died from the coronavirus.
Inmates started receiving the vaccine just two days before nursing home residents who will start vaccinations on Monday.
