R.I. Dept. of Administrative Director, Brett Smiley, offered an inside look into the Convention Center, which has been converted into a 550-bed medical facility.

Smiley took to Twitter to praise his colleagues for setting up the facility in less than three weeks.

There are a total of three field hospitals being set up in order to prepare for a surge.  The other two locations are the former Citizens Bank in Cranston and the former Lowe’s building in Quonset.

Governor Gina Raimondo said they will have the capacity to add 1,200 beds when all three field hospitals are set up.
