IT network issues impact Rhode Island agencies, CCRI

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Community College of Rhode Island said Wednesday that experienced internet connectivity problems.

CCRI said the IT network connection issues stemmed from a state-related internet outage that impacted most IT services.

“An unplanned disruption of power to the state’s primary data center required the Division of Information Technology to temporarily shut down all online applications, including state websites,” said Laura Hart, spokesperson for the Department of Administration.

She said the problem has been addressed and the Division of Information Technology is gradually restoring services.

“The state anticipates a full restoration of all services by mid-afternoon today,” said Hart.

Hart confirmed just after 5 p.m. Tuesday that all affected applications are now functional.
