PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — “It’s October 3rd,” which means it’s Mean Girls Day!

The Providence Performing Arts Center held an event Monday afternoon to celebrate Mean Girls Day and the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the color pink.

Carol Ann Donnelly from the Gloria Gemma Foundation attended the event to show her support.

“There’s no greater healing than validation, and as a two-time breast cancer myself, I happened upon the foundation thirteen years ago, quite by accident. Some of my dearest friends are breast cancer survivors I met through the foundation,” said Donnelly.

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PPAC is holding deals up to 40% on tickets for “Mean Girls” the musical.

“Mean Girls” the musical follows Cady Heron, a high school student from Africa, who finds a new home in the suburbs of Illinois.

PPAC’s deal will run until 11:59 p.m. Monday.
