Tolls will continue to be constructed on the Sakonnet River Bridge.

On Wednesday a Federal court Judge rejected a preliminary injunction to stop the construction of a tolling system on the New Sakonnet River Bridge while the matter proceeded in court.

Judge Ronald Lagueux said that he will allow the construction to continue. Last week the same judge rejected a request for a temporary restraining order by the towns of Portsmouth, Bristol and tiverton. The tolls are on track to be in place and implemented by July 1.
