Jackknifed truck spills 100 gallons of oil onto Route 146 in Lincoln

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Traffic slowly returned to normal after a semi-truck was jackknifed on Route 146 southbound in Lincoln, Tuesday afternoon.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said they determined that 100 gallons of oil spilled into the road.

Officials said one storm drain was impacted and the owner of the tractor trailer hired an environmental cleanup contractor to clean the area.

Rhode Island State Police said both lanes of Route 146 reopened around 8:30 p.m., Tuesday night.

ABC 6 News has reached out to Rhode Island State Police for  information regarding any injuries and have yet to hear back.
