Jacoby Ellsbury to Rehab at McCoy on Monday
Six in a Row for RED HOT PawSox
It took a while for the PawSox to score on Sunday afternoon, but they got a run in the seventh, two more in the eighth and hung on for a 3-1 win over the Chiefs. Despite the relatively low run output, they did notch a season-high 14 base hits. The PawSox (18-19) have won six straight games, the last four of which have been come from behind victories.
Adam Mills turned in another terrific effort as the Pawtucket starter. He didn't figure in the decision, but allowed just 1 run on 2 hits in 5 innings. Again, the PawSox bullpen was more than equal to the task. Fabio Castro, Joe Nelson (W, 3-1) and Fernando Cabrera (S. 5) shut down the Syracuse club.
Jorge Jimenez had 4 hits including a double. Angel Sanchez, Daniel Nava and Bubba Bell had two apiece. Gustavo Molina knocked in the eventual game winner. Nava and Tug Hulett had the other rbi.
The series and homestand wraps up on Monday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury is expected to be in the lineup, beginning his ML rehab (ribs). J.D. Martin (1-1, 3.97) will face Boof Bonser (0-1, 8.78).
