JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Johnston Board of Canvassers will look into the residency of a candidate running for General Assembly Thursday.

State Rep. Edward Cardillo Jr. is facing a potential primary challenge from his nephew, Dennis Cardillo Jr.

Cardillo Jr. claims that he has “unequivocal physical evidence” that his nephew doesn’t live in Johnston or the section of Cranston in the district that the seat is for.

Dennis Cardillo Jr. released a statement accusing his uncle of harassing him and his family.

The Board of Canvassers will review the accusations at 3 p.m.
