Johnston man facing DUI charge in Warwick crash ordered not to drive

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A Johnston man facing charges in a serious head-on crash in Warwick was ordered not to drive at his arraignment Thursday.

Ethan Mancini, 37, is charged with DUI — serious bodily injury and driving to endanger — serious bodily injury.

A Kent County District Court judge gave Mancini a $20,000 surety bail. He was ordered not to drive and to join an alcohol monitoring program.

Police said a Toyota Sienna minivan was heading south on Post Road around 8:30 p.m. when it crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a Toyota Camry.

Two women in the Camry were trapped inside when first responders arrived.

They were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital. One of the women underwent emergency surgery for life-threatening injuries.

Police said Mancini, the driver of the minivan, showed signs of impairment at the scene and was taken into custody.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
