Johnston police respond to cow sighting, cow remains at large

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- The Johnston Police Department received a call on Friday about the missing cow roaming the streets of Johnston.

Police tell ABC6 that officers responded to the call from a home on Pine Hill Ave. in Johnston. A woman called in saying that the cow was in her backyard.

However, the cow had escaped from the scene by the time police arrived.

Anyone that encounters the loose cow is encouraged to stay away and to call the Department of Environmental Management.
