‘Justice for Jhamal’ Rally Tonight

Group Calls for Officer Involved to be Fired and Charged

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A group calling for justice for Jhamal will gather in Providence tonight.

Jhamal Gonsalves, 24,  is in a coma after a crash involving his moped and a Providence police cruiser Sunday night.

The group is calling for an independent investigation into the crash as well as the officer involved to be fired and charged.

The rally is at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Bissel Street in Providence.
