Korean War veterans are finally being honored with a plaque at the Rhode Island State House.

The General Assembly called for the recognition nearly 30 years ago, which was approved but never built.

The plaque honors the 39,000 Rhode Islanders who fought in the Korean War.

It was unveiled Saturday morning by Governor Lincoln Chafee.
