WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced on Monday, as they perform maintenance on three Warwick bridges to extend their service life, a series of temporary changes in traffic pattern will go into effect.

The $10.1 million Statewide Bridge Repairs Contract 4 project will include, bridge joint repairs,  concrete repairs, and other activities on the structures.

All bridges carry traffic over from Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.

The bridges being repaired are: Coronado Road Railroad Bridge, Collingwood Railroad Bridge, Gorton Railroad Bridge.

RIDOT noted that a fourth bridge, Lafayette Railroad Bridge will not be under construction until 2020.

The statewide repair project is made possible by RhodeWorks, RIDOT’s commitment to repair structurally deficient bridges.

According to RIDOT, the new traffic patterns are scheduled to take effect the week of June 10.
