PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the lane shifts on I-95 North and South at the Eddy Street Bridge will be removed Thursday night.

The highway near the bridge will be resurfaced starting the night of Sunday, August 29.

RIDOT says the travel lanes will be restored to their original configurations. The resurfacing will be ongoing for six to eight weeks. RIDOT says during this time drivers may encounter rough, milled, and uneven surface and should reduce their speed in work zones.

RIDOT says the work will wrap up late next summer.
