Large marijuana grow located in Coventry: One arrest made

COVENTRY, R.I (WLNE) – Police discovered a large marijuana grow in the basement of a Coventry residence on Saturday. 

Coventry police placed Briant Jimenez, a 28-year-old of Arnold Road into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant for Domestic Simple Assault. That’s when they found the marijuana grow in the basement of the residence. 

Police detectives located the following items during the search: 189 marijuana plants, 1 pound 5 ounces of processed marijuana, unprocessed marijuana, $5,621 US currency, packaging materials, a digital scale, and a loaded .32 caliber pistol stored behind the front door. 

Jimenez was arraigned on charges of Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana at Kent County Courthouse on February 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. 

Bail was set at $5,000 with surety.
