Last chance for free voter ID before election

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – It's the last chance to get a free voter ID before Tuesday's election.
Rhode Island Secretary of State Ralph Mollis is offering free voter IDs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Way at 50 Valley St. in Providence. His office at 148 West River St. in Providence is also offering free IDs between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
A new law requires voters to show identification when they go to the polls. A government-issued photo ID will be required starting in 2014.
Until then, other forms of non-photo identification, such as a bank statement or government-issued document, may be used.
To get a free ID, voters must bring proof of identity such as a Social Security or credit card.
