Lawmakers to hear several gun bills, including assault weapons ban

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island lawmakers will be hearing several bills on gun control Monday.
The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on more than two dozen gun legislations, including a bill introduced by Gov. Dan McKee that would ban the sale of assault rifles in Rhode Island.
Last year, a similar bill was introduced to ban assault rifles, but it was never brought to the floor for a vote. However, several gun reforms were passed, including a ban on large-capacity magazines.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hear these bills Tuesday.
