Leapfest to return after 2-year hiatus

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island National Guard’s Leapfest is returning after a two-year hiatus.

RING announced the vent will returns to Adams Farms in Exeter Aug. 6 after being postponed the last two years due to COVID-19.

“We are proud to be bringing this world-wide tradition back to Rhode Island,” said Col. John MacDonald, 56th Troop Command Commander and host of Leapfest 2022.

The goal of the event is to promote partnerships and develop spirit de corps within the Airborne community while performing missions of paratroopers.

Paratrooper teams from the Netherlands, South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, and New Zealand are scheduled to participate.
