Librarians across Rhode Island are revealing their tattoos – for a good cause.

The Rhode Island Library Association is selling its first-ever Tattooed Librarians of the Ocean State 2014 Calendar.

According to the Association's website, the calendar is a collection of photos from 12 librarians and library workers who are proud of their career, proud of their tattoos, and proud of the stories behind them. Like libraries, the website says, tattoos symbolize both preservation of history and resistance of the norm.

Proceeds from calendar sales go towards the Association, which improves library services throughout the state.

You can pre-order your calendar on the Association website, www.rilibraries.org.
