Dominican festival gets the go ahead, despite money owed

Organizers of the Dominican festival have received the ok by the city's licensing board to proceed with their plans and for the festival to take place on August 11th.

Just last week the organizers paid $15,000 which is half of the money owed to the City of Providence, they have signed up for a payment plan for the remaining amount of $16,448. The money owed to the city was accumulated over the years for police detail.

The Festivals schedule is as follows:

10am – Noon: Broad street Providence, RI.

Noon – 7:30pm: Temple of music at Roger Williams Park.
