Lifespan brings vaccine clinics to vulnerable communities
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Lifespan is teaming up with local organizations to vaccinate some of the most vulnerable communities in the state.
Senior centers, public housing sites, and faith-based civic community organizations are all places where Lifespan will hold vaccine clinics.
So far, Lifespan held a clinic at Rand Place Apartments in Central Falls on Wednesday, and at Bethel AME Church in Providence on Thursday.
They’ve been able to vaccinate 80 people at those two clinics.
Lifespan plans to hold more clinics as more vaccines become available.
They’re teaming up with Blue Cross and Blue Shield to notify individuals of upcoming clinics, answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, and to schedule appointments.
The vaccines at these clinics are free of charge to recipients.
