Lifespan Cancer Institute provides free cancer screenings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Lifespan Cancer Institute and the Lifespan Community Health Institute provided free cancer screenings to uninsured and under-insured women in Rhode Island.
The organization said 50 women were given clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, pap smears and other breast and cervical cancer exams.
Patients received their exam results at the event as well as arrangements for follow-up care as needed,” Katherine Hart said. “Lifespan also provided complimentary lunch and parking, and health education materials to all attendees.”
The event took place at the Anne C. Pappas Center for Breast Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital.
