Lifespan to host ‘WomanCare,’ free cervical, breast cancer screenings
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Lifespan Cancer Institute and Community Health Institute will host a special health event for underinsured and uninsured women.
Officials said on Saturday, June 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will provide free cancer screenings for women 21-years and older to promote health and wellbeing.
Pelvic exams, pap tests, clinical breast exams and screening mammograms will also be offered as well as an outreach program.
Most results will be available the same day and follow-up appointments will be provided as-needed.
Additionally, patients will also be offered transportation, language interpretation, childcare, food and parking at no additional cost.
There are 50 appointments available for Rhode Islanders during the event on June 3. Women who are interested should schedule an appointment by visiting Lifespan’s WomanCare webpage.
