Lincoln man arrested on weapons, child molestation charges

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said they arrested a Lincoln man on child molestation and weapons charges on Friday.

Police said 26-year-old Jamal Lewis of Railroad Street was arrested after they received information he was involved in multiple sex crimes towards minors.

The crimes dated back as far as 2020, authorities said.

A search warrant was executed on Lewis’ home where officials said they found a loaded gun with a high-capacity magazine.

Lewis was held without bail on March 30, and charged with the following:

  • First degree child molestation
  • Possession of a firearm by person convicted of a crime of violence
  • Alteration of identification on firearms
  • Large capacity feeding device
  • Conspiracy
