Lincoln Police arrive at bloody domestic assault scene

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Lincoln Police arrived at a bloody scene following a domestic assault in an apartment Sunday morning.

A woman was stabbed at an apartment on Lonsdale Avenue between two women in a domestic relationship.

Police found a "large amount of blood" in the apartment. The blood appeared to belong the victim, a 24-year-old who also lived in the apartment, found with multiple stab wounds.

The suspect of the assault was determined to be 22-year-old Briana Suggs. Suggs also suffered several lacerations as a result of the assault, and was treated at Rhode Island Hospital before being released to police custody.

Two female neighbors who heard screaming and cries to call 911 were already in the apartment by the time police arrived.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital immediately. She underwent surgery Monday, but remains in "serious but stable" condition.

Suggs was arraigned in District Court Monday morning. She is being charged with felony domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
