Lizzie Borden coffee shop opens next door to popular museum in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — If you love coffee and the story of Lizzie Borden, then a new Fall River coffee shop may be just for you.

The shop is located next to the Lizzie Borden House and Museum on Second Street. Owners told ABC 6 News it has been dubbed the “most haunted coffee shop in the world.”

“I have been coming here for the past two weeks when they opened up. When I tried their coffee, I don’t want anyone else’s coffee but this coffee here. Every day I am here,” said a Miss Lizzie regular.

Miss Lizzie’s coffee shop just opened on Aug. 4, the day Andrew and Abby Borden, father and stepmother of Lizzie, were brutally murdered over 130 years ago.

The owners of the coffee shop want to bring in more visitors to see what Fall River has to offer.

Laurie Pereira, helper at Miss Lizzie’s coffee shop said, “In Fall River, this is what we are known for – Lizzie Borden. It kind of gets people thinking and at least they know where we are.”

You can stop by the new haunted hangout for freshly brewed coffee and light bites.

Miss Lizzie’s is not affiliated with the Lizzie Borden House and Museum, but it is right next door, making the shop a second destination for visitors.

“We are hoping to just get some local folks to come in and have a cup of coffee. We also get some visitors that visit the house next door. We get people that come from all over the country and we get to talk to them, so it is really nice,” explained Pereira.

Miss Lizzie’s is currently hiring and has plans of offering online ordering in the future.

They are also expanding the shop so local artists can display their art while people sit and eat and drink coffee.
