Local Animal Shelter collecting supplies for animals in Bahamas

Fairhaven, Mass (WLNE) – In the wake of Hurricane Dorian a local animal shelter is collecting supplies for animals in the Bahamas.

Odie’s Place Animal Rescue was outside the Walmart in Fairhaven Monday.

This is all part of the Dartmouth rescue’s third annual hurricane pet relief drive.

They’re hoping to fill at least two 16-foot trucks with dog food, cat food, and cases of water to be shipped to the Bahamas this weekend.

“We have the potential with how great everyone is, animal lovers, to donate as much as possible,” Brian Harrington said. “As much as people donate, we’ll get it out. So if we need a bigger truck, we’ll get a bigger truck absolutely.”

If you want to donate they’ll be back outside the Walmart in Fairhaven Tuesday from 2-7p.m., and then Wednesday through Friday outside the Walmart in North Dartmouth from 2-7 p.m.
