Local artist’s painting honors Boston Marathon bombing survivors

By Mike LaCrosse

A Fall River artist is honoring the survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings with a painting.

Brian Fox painted “Endurance.”  It now hangs at the Spaulding Rehab Center in Boston, a place where many of the victims still receive treatment.

“I tried to capture no one in particular, more the spirit of the city, the spirit of not giving up,” said Fox.

He says he was inspired by the survivors, first responders and everyday people who rushed into help last April.

He spent about a hundred hours on the painting.  He finished early this winter, but had to keep it a secret until the unveiling last week.

“I was nervous what their respond was gonna be and their response was tremendous and it was very humbling,” said Fox.

You can buy a canvas copy or poster to help support the Spaulding Rehab Center.
