Local jewelry store donating over 200 bracelets to nurses at Miriam Hospital

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A jewelry store in East Providence is showing its appreciation for healthcare workers on the front lines.

M.R.T. Jewelers will be giving nurses at Miriam Hospital a silver bracelet engraved with a biblical message.

The jewelry store is donating 225 bracelets in all.

Dave Audette, President of M.R.T. Jewelers said, “These nurses are always there caring for us, caring for our community, caring for Rhode Island when we’re at our most vulnerable, and we owe them great debt of gratitude for that.” He continued to say, “I hope that this bracelet as I stated earlier is a reminder to them that we a care about them, year–long not only during times of crisis or during nurses week, but we care about them and what they do for us and for the community, year round.”

The jewelry store purchases the bracelets from a company in New York and part of the proceeds from that sale went to a charity for children.
