WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) – Heather Dupee used the power of social media to coordinate a fun way for kids to learn how to cook while being confined at home.

Heather Dupee is a small business owner. She owns “Made by Me Cooking School”, based out of Warren, RI. Normally she hosts in-person cooking classes, but amid concerns over the coronavirus outbreak, those classes are currently on hold for the foreseeable future.

If you have children you are well aware of the common question many of them ask on a daily basis: “What’s for dinner?”.  To answer that familiar inquiry, Dupee posted to her Facebook page on Saturday, March 14 a free Facebook Live kids’ cooking event.  The virtual cooking event was well received, with nearly 3 thousand people partaking in the event.

Dupee hopes that her virtual cooking classes will give kids something to do while learning a life skill. She hopes to provide viewers with 2 Facebook Live posts per week.  Dupee will be posting in advance all recipes and ingredients so parents are able to prepare in advance.

Check out Heather Dupee’s “Made by Me Cooking School” Facebook page for the latest information, dates, and times.
