Two local robotics teams were in St. Louis this past weekend for the first annual robotics championships.

Providence career and technical academy are vying to be the best of the best in high school robotics.

The girl's team with their breast cancer awareness themed robot came up short and will not be moving on to the finals.

The boys were also knocked out but the Mind–Storm “Mayhem” team from “all” Saints Academy in Middletown, earned their ticket to St. Louis by winning the State Championship in January.

But for these kids, it's not about the final score.

“I have visited most of the teams from foreign countries,” says Alden Pratt, “and I think that is pretty cool because they get to share their culture with you when you come by their booth.”

It was a busy week for Mind–Storm Mayhem, on Monday they visited the white house as part of the white house science fair.
