Lottery prizes can be redeemed by mail

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Effective immediately, any Rhode Island Lottery winnings can be redeemed by mail due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In order to redeem a Rhode Island Lottery prize by mail, anybody with a winning ticket must provide the following documents/information:
- The winning ticket with a signature on the back of the ticket,
- Complete address
- Telephone number,
- Copy of valid, government-issued photo I.D.; and
- Copy of Social Security Card or valid document that includes their Social Security Number.
Anybody who does not a copy of their social security card or a document that includes a social security number, they must complete and sign an IRS W-9 form.
Forms can be found on the lottery’s website, www.rilot.com.
Prize checks will be mailed to the address provided.
