MA Trooper Injured in Morning Crash

A Massachusetts State Trooper is recovering Wednesday after a morning crash in which he was struck by a passing car.

The accident happened around 6:30AM in Fall River, on Route 24N near the merge with Route 79. Trooper Christopher Kaszyk was working the scene of a one-car crash when, while moving towards his cruiser, her was struck by a car coming from Route 79, attempting to merge.

Michael Camara, 47, of Swansea, MA was charged with Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Trooper Kaszyk was thrown onto the hood of the car, and taken by rescue to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor leg injuries, and released. There were no other injuries in the crash.

The investigation into the crash continues.
