Magaziner wraps up day 1 of orientation, as Langevin prepares to leave Congress

WASHINGTON (WLNE) — Congressman-elect Seth Magaziner wrapped up his first day of orientation in Washington, D.C., on Monday with other newly elected members of Congress.

“A big thank you, once again, to the people of Rhode Island for putting your trust in me, and to all of our staff and volunteers,” Magaziner said.

Magaziner won a tight election for Rhode Island’s open 2nd Congressional District versus former Cranston Mayor Allan Fung. Incumbent Rep. Jim Langevin is retiring.

“It’s been a good first day. I’ve gotten to know a number of other new members, both Democrat and Republican. Seems like a lot of good people who want to get things done for the country,” Magaziner added.

He will be sworn in, along other new members of Congress, on Jan. 3.
