Magic of McCoy: Cal Ripken Jr., Others Remember The Longest Game

The start of the rise of the PawSox as one of the premiere franchises in minor league baseball can be traced back to The Longest Game.

The longest game in baseball history was played in Pawtucket, when the PawSox and the Rochester Red Wings played a game that lasted 33 innings over two nights.

Two hall of famers played in that game: Wade Boggs for the PawSox and Cal Ripken Jr. for the Red Wings.
