Make-A-Wish, HG-TV star grant girl’s wish with renovated room
NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Make-A-Wish granted another child’s wish on Sunday.
17-year-old Angelina “Nina” Macri, of North Attleboro, has cystic fibrosis and wished for a few things, from meeting Taylor Swift to donating her wish to someone else, but ended up settling on a bedroom makeover.
HGTV host Tanya Nayak and her team worked with Nina to make her dream a reality, something Nina knows was not a walk in the park.
Nina’s parents were at a loss for words for how much the renovation meant to their daughter.
“This is a perfect wish for her because again, she wants her own space and she spends time in her own space — for her room to be transformed the way it was transformed — it blew away all of our expectations,” they said.
It took months to plan Nina’s dream room, the CEO for the Massachusetts and Rhode Island’s Make-A-Wish branches said.
Everyone involved said they’re thrilled with how the project turned out and that they were able to bring some joy into Nina’s journey.
The group called on a local friend and celebrity designer Tanya Nayak who embraced the request, bringing in her team to work with Nina to design her dream room and put it all together.
Her renovated room featured Bohemian traits with varying accessories and textures throughout. Nina’s favorite, she said, was her new green wall decorated with leaves and a neon sign that reads “good vibes only.”
