UPDATE: Police identify pedestrian hit, killed by car in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Police have identified a teenager who died after he was hit by a car Friday night in Warwick.
Police say 18-year-old Kurtis Lee Prosser, of Warwick, was crossing the street on West Shore Road when he was hit by a sedan.
Prosser was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he passed away from his injuries shortly after midnight.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday in the area of 2672 West Shore Road.
The Warwick Police Department Accident Reconstruction team was called in to the scene, and all lanes were blocked during the process.
Police say criminal charges are not pending against the driver.
Weather conditions, dark clothing, and poor lighting are factors in this crash. However, speed and driver impairment do not appear to be factors.
