Man, 30, accused of robbing Providence gentlemen’s club was former employee
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man who’s accused of robbing a gentlemen’s club in Providence was a former employee of the establishment.
The manager of Cadillac Lounge said that Jontay Goode worked as barback for the club.
Providence police said Goode, 30, was arrested after they said he robbed the Cadillac Lounge on Charles Street at gunpoint.
He is facing an armed robbery charge connected to the incident.
During a court appearance Tuesday he entered no plea and was held without bail.
Prosecutors said Goode dressed in a blue jump suit and a Halloween mask that depicted that of a white bald man before committing the robbery.
The manager of the lounge, Eddi Imondi, said a man held a gun to his head and demanded money from a safe before the lounge opened.
Prosecutors added that Goode dropped the bag of money on the railroad tracks behind the club and they were able to recover nearly $20,000.
Police initially said Goode took over $25,000 from the lounge, mostly in $1 bills.
Goode is due back in court July 26.
