Man abducted near Providence club

Police say a man was abducted near a nightclub in Providence and taken to ATMs around the city to get cash Sunday morning.

Major David Lapatin tells ABC 6 the victim was abducted by several people near a nightclub on Snow Street where they took his ATM card and pin number and withdrew cash around Providence on July 12th around 3:15 a.m.

The victim, whose identity was not released, called 911 shortly after he was dropped off in the Olneyville area of Providence.

Police didn’t release information on whether the victim was injured and targeted.

The suspects fled with an unknown amount of money and no arrests were made.
