Man accused of selling drugs throughout Providence, East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An East Providence man was arrested after an investigation into drug distribution in two cities.
Nicholas DaSilva, 23, is accused of selling drugs throughout parts of Providence and East Providence.
Police in both communities and the Providence branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives launched an investigation into drug activity in the area earlier this month.
Investigators were granted a search warrant of DaSilva’s home on Fifth Street on July 23.
East Providence police and a K-9 unit found eight adults at the residence.

DaSilva was arrested after police found over a half kilogram of cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills, mushrooms, marijuana, and 5 liters of promethazine.
Police additionally found ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and about $1,400 in cash.
According to online court records, DaSilva was arraigned on Thursday. He faces several drug possession with intent to distribute charges, as well as keeping/maintaining a common nuisance — first offense, and distribution or manufacturing in or near schools — first offense.
DaSilva is due back in court in November.
