Man arrested after admitting to years of child molestation

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) – A Little Compton man has been arrested in South Kingstown on charges of First Degree Child Molestation.

South Kingstown Police said Myles Stevenson, 39, of Little Compton was detained by Police on October 17th following officers receiving reports that he had molesting a twelve-year-old child over a period of several years.

According to Police, a South Kingstown woman reported on October 15th that she believed her boyfriend of four years had molested her twelve-year-old daughter.

During the course of questioning, Stevenson confessed multiple accounts of first degree molestation to a South Kingstown Police Detective, beginning in 2014 when the girl was eight years old.

 Stevenson was arrested and charged with one count of First Degree Child Molestation.

Police said they expect additional criminal charges to be filed against Stevenson in light of statements and physical evidence obtained by the detectives.

Police said Stevenson is being held without bail at the ACI.
